Private lessons, chamber ensembles, participation in the Crescendo Orchestra, and many performing opportunities. Participants are especially encouraged to participate in the course as an existing chamber ensemble. Participation in the Crescendo Orchestra is required from all instrumentalists who are selected, which means a daily 90 min. rehearsal followed by concert.

Application for the solo and chamber music section should be done online. If you are applying to the Summer Institute for the first time, please upload an mp3 audio recording about three different style pieces to your profile through the online application.

Advanced Studies Program for Woodwinds and Strings:
Students in the Advanced Studies Program will have intense lessons on solo repertoire with their teacher every other day or every day at the discretion of the teacher.  They will be expected to practice at least 4 hours per day.  They will not participate in the orchestra, but will participate in one chamber ensemble.  Participation is limited to advanced students and entry into the program is competitive.

Organ:
The main instrument of the course will be a precious, newly restored 24-stop mechanical organ of 1871 by Ludwig Mooser, whose instruments build a synergy of classicism and romanticism. Two other organs are available in Sárospatak for practise.
